upload_guidelines
All of the below guidelines are subject to change as the structure of this site is finalized.
Tagging guidelines
If you have any questions or suggestions for these rules, contact exy.
- At minimum, include the wrestler's name (at the time) and the promotion/television show that they appeared in under that name.
- If you're uploading a higher-quality version of an existing image, report the old image with a link to the new one. The old image will be deleted.
- You may upload larger versions of GIFs that also have an autoplay version. As a courtesy, you should leave a comment with a link to the other version after uploading.
- If an image you upload doesn't appear, it's probably a duplicate. Any extra tags you entered will be added to the original image.
- Show screencaps should be uploaded as JPG files. PNG files are usually much larger than necessary. JPEG quality 80% is sufficient in most cases; 90-100% is also excessive.
Tagging guidelines
- Tag wrestlers, otherwise significant wrestling personalities, signature moves, promotion, television show/pay-per-view name, and a general mood (to aid MFW searches).
- Use full names; e.g. randy_orton as opposed to orton; hunter_hearst_helmsley as opposed to hhh; and macho_man_randy_savage as opposed to randy savage. Also be careful not to tag aj; use aj_lee or aj_styles.
- Use the wrestler's name as depicted in the image. sycho_sid and sid_vicious are not to be used together unless he appears as both personas in the same image. Here's an example of an image of a single person with two gimmicks: 1501
- Exception: hollywood_hulk_hogan is separate from hulk_hogan, but both should be used as hulk_hogan is his more well-known name.
- For candid photos with a wrestler out of gimmick or costume, tag the wrestler's best known name(s) as well as his/her real name if known.
- Avoid using epithets that complement a wrestler name. Don't use jerry_the_king_lawler when jerry_lawler will suffice.
- Original content should be tagged with the user/trip who created it, if known.
- If the wrestler's name changed slightly, use the most recent form. lord tensai will alias to tensai.
- When tagging a macro, describe the text as generally as possible in another tag and replace commonly changed words with "x" if they are not at the end of the phrase. For example, my_body_is; arrive_x_leave; you_mad for all variations of "you mad", "he mad", etc.
- For parodies, tag the name of the original show/game/movie.
- If you're uploading fanart, please make an effort to find its author and enter their website or the original URL of the image in the Source field.
- Tag actions with gerunds, as in "smiling", "laughing", "crying", and "burying".
- If in doubt, leave a comment on the image asking for advice.
