I won't make a bad Deep Purple joke, don't worry.

Darius arrives on the SNES! Rejoice and be glad...at least to an extent.

Darius Twin starts out on planet Orga, where the ex-Darians have lived since Darius. However, Belser is still at it and is attacking Darius again. Guess what happens?

Darius Twin has the same powerup system as Sagaia to an extent. You blow up a string of a particular kind of enemy to get a power-up, typically in a red-blue-green order. Powering up is a wee bit faster, and most importantly, you don't power down when you die! Thank you, Taito. The stage layout is a slight departure from the old one- you branch out, you contract and then again, probably due to resource constraints; this also involves planet-hopping as in Sagaia.

The bosses in this game have the same code number gimmick as in Sagaia. You also do learn the names of the planets of the Darius system.
