Thunderbolt Fans

Appears as a boss in:

Darius Force(1993)

Relatives: Electric Fan

Electric Fan, the sea anemone boss of Darius, was a walkover, no doubt about it. Come 1993, the boys at Taito decided to do somethin' about it. This is probably what happened:

:OK...so what shall we do for the Zone E boss?
:How about a sea anemone?
:But we did that for Electric Fan...
:Well, we can build on it.
:And how?.
:How about two anemones instead of one?.
:(*groan*) And?
:We could call it Thunderbolt Fans, since it's still 'electric', but more impressive, and there are two of them.
:Ouch.

Due to this, one runs into two nicely-coloured sea anemones on some kind of chariot better suited for Battle Beasts(TM).

Two sea anemones for the price of one.

Tips: Again, Thunderbolt Fans has been done up very nicely. And he certainly has more soul than his predecessor. THe chariot will first fire off a few bullets, and then the smaller anemone on the right detaches itself , moving to the left of the screen. Avoid it, and the three little thingies it sheds on the way. Now, (and this is the best attack sea anemones have ever had)the two anemones' mouths will shoot out a beam which looks like lightning bolts (HA!) and which gets jointed due to the thingies. This will oscillate (yes, it does, fit a Fourier series to it if you don't believe me) a bit, and is the attack to be feared. To survive this, stay under the left anemone as much as possible. But be ready to move out fast and fly under or above the bigger anemone as it goes to link up to the small one. This cycles until the small anemone is destroyed (until then, it's the only part of Thunderbolt Fans that can take damage). Once that happens, Thunderbolt Fans stays put on the right side of the screen and fires more bullets at you, as well as an abbreviated bolt with still sweeps the screen. Not fully, so you can stand at the extreme left and avoid it totally. Now the rest of him can take damage, so, make sure that he may have it, and have it abundantly
