OK, level X. As I've rambled on on the Hysterical Empress about how I feel about it, and Darius and Darius R are no slouch either. The latter makes good use of a tune from Darius Gaiden and the annoying 'base' stages from Darius, whereas Darius has it in a suitably apocalyptic (OK, maybe not) setting. And so, I was certainly shocked when I discovered that I was going to fight a dude called Octopus. It was even more of a shock when I saw him in Darius Plus and Super Darius. My eyes are still watering from that...
Burst Out attacks One and Two.
Tips: Lasers, lasers, lasers from his tentacles, with a bullet arc that appears to fire from his mouth, Octopus will keep you busy. His chief weak spot is somewhere where is eyes can be seen, but to really get there you have to hack away at his tentacles first. Not nice. The lasers will make this hard, and staying in the middle of the screen makes you prey to the bullet arc. Sounds familiar? If you have enough lives and luck , you can reduce him to a tentacle-less wreck and then finish him off. Luverly, isn't it?
